When glamorous and secretive Evelyne Ducat vanishes during a blizzard in the remote highlands of southern France, a small town is thrown into bewilderment and suspicion. The local police probe her disappearance amid drifting snow and closed doors, but as the investigation unfolds it becomes clear that Evelyne's life reached far beyond what anyone imagined. Only the Animals traces the ripple effects of Evelyne’s absence through the perspectives of five people bound to her by love, desire, or chance.
