Only the Animals
When glamorous and secretive Evelyne Ducat vanishes during a blizzard in the remote highlands of southern France, a small town is thrown into bewilderment and suspicion. The local police probe her disappearance amid drifting snow and closed doors, but as the investigation unfolds it becomes clear that Evelyne's life reached far beyond what anyone imagined. The harsh landscape and winter weather mirror a cold, insular community where everyone seems to harbor a private longing or regret.
Only the Animals traces the ripple effects of Evelyne’s absence through the perspectives of five people bound to her by love, desire, or chance. Each viewpoint peels back layers of secrecy and loneliness, revealing how small choices can lead to profound consequences. Poignant and unsettling, the film interweaves human vulnerability with the mercilessness of nature, building to a revelation that forces the characters—and the audience—to confront the hidden costs of yearning and deception.
