When the Lights Went Out
In 1974 Yorkshire, the Maynard family moves into what they believe will be their dream home, only to find it harbors a malevolent presence. At first there are small, unnerving incidents—doors that slam, shadows that flicker—but the disturbances quickly escalate into something far more terrifying. The house reveals itself as an arena for a violent, relentless force that will not be ignored.
As night falls, the poltergeist's attacks grow worse: beds are ripped apart, family members are thrown from their rooms, and unseen hands drag victims toward the void. Neighbors and authorities struggle to make sense of the mayhem as rational explanations fall away and fear tightens its grip on the household. Desperation drives the Maynards to confront a terror that seems to feed on disbelief itself.
What unfolds is a chilling true‑inspired tale of survival and madness as the family fights to reclaim their home and their lives. Confronted with horrors that defy explanation, they must face the possibility that some houses never let go, and that the stories that survive are written in scarred walls and shaken souls.
