Minnie and Moskowitz
Minnie Moore is a weary, self-protective woman whose confidence has been cracked by an affair with a married man. Jaded and unsure she’ll ever find something real, she navigates life with a mix of sarcasm and guarded longing, until a chance confrontation changes everything. When a shaggy-haired parking lot attendant named Seymour Moskowitz defends her from an obnoxious blind date, their lives collide in a way neither expects.
Seymour is loud, earnest, and persistent in a manner that both bewilders and disarms Minnie. Despite their social and emotional differences—he’s rough-edged and impulsive, she’s cautious and skeptical—Seymour falls headlong for her, and Minnie, surprisingly, agrees to give him a chance. Their early interactions are awkward, combustible, and often hilariously honest, revealing vulnerabilities beneath their very different surfaces.
What unfolds is an offbeat, tender romance that grows slowly and unevenly, full of moments that are as comic as they are heartbreaking. The film examines how two imperfect people stumble toward connection, learning to accept each other’s flaws and to risk intimacy. It’s a bittersweet, character-driven portrait of love found in unexpected places, celebrating the messy, unpredictable ways people reach for one another.
