Alice, Sweet Alice
Alice is a withdrawn twelve-year-old who lives in a tense household where her younger sister, Karen, soaks up their mother’s attention. When Karen is found brutally murdered in the church, suspicion swings toward Alice, whose quiet demeanor and simmering resentment make her an easy target for rumor and blame. The investigation exposes family fractures and a community quick to judge, turning ordinary domestic spaces into sites of fear.
The film builds a slow-burning, psychological horror around religious iconography and the unsettling ambiguity of guilt. With eerie church interiors, furtive glances, and a masked presence that haunts the edges of every scene, it probes themes of innocence, jealousy, and the corrosive power of suspicion, refusing to wrap its mysteries in neat answers and leaving viewers unnerved.
