You Lucky Dog

Jack Morgan is a canine counselor who built a reputation on an uncanny ability to understand dogs—based largely on a past gift he can no longer access. To keep his practice afloat he continues offering mind-reading sessions to hopeful owners, privately concealing that most of his insights are guesswork. When a picky client with political connections threatens to shut him down, Jack’s confidence begins to fray.

Everything changes when Clyde Windsor brings his beloved dog, Lucky, to see Jack; for the first time in years Jack can truly hear a dog’s thoughts. Stunned and unnerved, he ends the visit abruptly after warning Windsor that Lucky is troubled by three people in his household. The discovery propels Jack into a comedic, heartfelt scramble to reckon with his past, protect Lucky, and decide whether to reclaim the authentic gift he thought was lost.
