Female Trouble
Dawn Davenport is a grotesque, magnetically unhinged antihero whose small-town miseries and teenage obsessions — famously fixated on getting a pair of cha-cha heels — balloon into a murderous odyssey. The film follows her gleeful descent through petty crimes, chaotic relationships, and increasingly outrageous schemes, each misstep played for shockingly dark laughs. With campy, over-the-top performances and a deliberate taste for bad behavior, the story turns ordinary grievances into transgressive spectacle.
As Dawn claws her way toward notoriety, fame transforms her into a monstrous self-image: egotistical, sensationalized, and utterly indifferent to consequence. The media’s hunger and her own vanity push her past societal taboos until her crimes culminate in a fate as extreme as her life — an electric chair ending that underlines the film’s satirical bite. Equal parts black comedy and social provocation, the movie skewers celebrity culture, moral hypocrisy, and the corrosive allure of being seen.
