Citizen Ruth

Ruth Stoops is a down-on-her-luck, largely invisible woman whose unexpected pregnancy suddenly makes her the center of attention. Zealous anti-abortion activists, loud pro-choice advocates, opportunistic politicians and hungry media descend on her small life, each determined to claim her story and steer her decision.

Blending dark satire with sharp comedy, the film tracks Ruth as she weathers a parade of self-righteous characters and escalating antics that turn private turmoil into public spectacle.
