Dead of Night
In Dead of Night, architect Walter Craig stops at a remote country farmhouse hoping to find work, only to discover himself slipping into a familiar and dreaded nightmare. As he grows more uneasy, the home's eclectic guests pass the time by relating a series of uncanny, sometimes comic, sometimes chilling stories—each one peeling back another layer of the ordinary until the boundary between waking life and dream blurs.
Framed as a linked anthology, the film shifts between supernatural dread and psychological unease, from a sinister ventriloquist act to eerie premonitions and domestic hauntings. With a measured, atmospheric pace and a disorienting finale that folds back on itself, Dead of Night leaves viewers unsettled and thinking about fate, identity, and whether any of us can truly escape a recurring dream.
