Young People Fucking

Young People Fucking (2007) is a candid ensemble sex comedy that follows five couples over the course of a Tuesday night as they navigate a series of intimate encounters. Matt and Kris attempt a one-time, no-strings hookup; Abby and Andrew, a married pair, celebrate a birthday while confronting anxiety and miscommunication; Mia and Eric, recently broken up, test whether they're truly over one another; Jaime and Ken, coworkers, fumble through a first date; and Inez and Gord invite Gord’s roommate Dave into their experiment, shifting the usual dynamics.

Through these intersecting vignettes the film mixes blunt humor with frank observation, using the moments before, during, and after sex to probe questions about anonymity, boredom, commitment, honesty, and the desire to make someone else happy. Each scenario exposes different insecurities and miscommunications, showing how sexual encounters can both reveal and complicate the characters’ emotional lives.
