Serge Rezvani, originally born Cyrus Rezvani in 1928, is a versatile French artist with a wide array of talents. Not only is he a painter and engraver, but he is also a prolific writer, penning numerous novels, plays, and poetry collections throughout his career. His creativity extends to music as well, where he is recognized as a songwriter, composer, and performer, showcasing his multidisciplinary nature. Rezvani is perhaps best known by his pseudonym, Cyrus Bassiak, under which he has created a significant body of work.

Hailing from Tehran, Rezvani's multicultural background adds depth to his artistry. The son of a Persian father and a Jewish mother who emigrated from Russia, his upbringing was a blend of diverse influences. Moving to France at a young age, he navigated a new language and culture, eventually mastering French while attending a boarding school for Russian immigrants. This early exposure to different worlds likely shaped his unique perspective as an artist.

Throughout his career, Rezvani has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape with his creations. With over 40 novels, 15 plays, and two poetry collections to his name, his literary contributions are extensive and varied. The loss of his first wife, Lula, to Alzheimer's in 2004 was a profound moment that deeply impacted him. In a twist of fate, he reconnected with French actress Marie-José Nat, leading to a heartfelt union in 2005. Their love story, chronicled in his book "Ultime amour," captured the essence of their bond and shared journey, characterized by a poignant awareness of the fleeting nature of time.

Living with Marie-José Nat in Bonifacio until her passing in 2019, Rezvani's later years were filled with a mix of memories and new beginnings.
