Dean Cain, originally born Dean George Tanaka on July 31, 1966, is a well-known American actor whose career has spanned across various genres in the entertainment industry. Raised in Malibu by his mother, actress Sharon Thomas, and his adoptive father, director Christopher Cain, Dean's upbringing was surrounded by the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Despite his roots in the industry, Dean initially had aspirations of pursuing a career in professional football rather than following in his parents' footsteps in acting.

Attending Santa Monica High School and later Princeton University, Dean's path took a turn towards the arts as he found himself drawn to the world of performance.
