Hugo Wallace Weaving, an actor of English descent, was born on April 4, 1960, in Colonial Nigeria to English parents. Despite his roots, he has called Australia home for the entirety of his illustrious career. Weaving's talent has earned him six Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) and the prestigious title of Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia.
Weaving's journey to stardom began with his portrayal of English cricket captain Douglas Jardine on the Australian television series Bodyline in 1984.
