Sir Donald Alfred Sinden CBE, a distinguished English actor of theatre, film, and television, was born on October 9, 1923, in Plymouth, Devon. Raised in the quaint village of Ditchling, his childhood home also served as the local chemist shop, giving him a unique backdrop for his early years.
