Sabu, born Hiroyuki Tanaka in Wakayama Prefecture on November 18, 1964, is a multi-talented Japanese actor and director who has made a significant impact on the world of cinema. His journey into the entertainment industry was not a traditional one. Initially, he pursued a career in music after studying at an Osaka fashion school. However, fate had other plans for him, leading him to Tokyo where he discovered his passion for acting.

His big break came in 1991 when he landed the starring role in World Apartment Horror, a film directed by the renowned Katsuhiro Ōtomo, known for his work on the iconic anime film Akira.
