Hailing from Ungvár, Austria-Hungary (now Uzhgorod, Ukraine), Geray's journey to stardom began with his education at the University of Budapest. He honed his craft at the Hungarian National Theater before making his mark on the London stage in 1934 under the name Steven Geray, captivating audiences with his performances in productions like "Happy Week-End!"
