Frédéric Saurel's journey into the world of acting began during his college years when he auditioned for a play by Luigi Pirandello, marking the start of his passion for the craft. Despite considering himself a "bad student" in most subjects, Saurel excelled in French and theater, eventually leading him to pursue a career in drama. He made the bold decision to put his academic pursuits on hold to fully immerse himself in the study of acting, a choice that would shape his future in the industry.

After honing his skills under the guidance of renowned mentors Alain Janey and Paulette Frantz, Saurel's talent caught the attention of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris, where he was accepted at the age of 19. During his time at the conservatory from 1986 to 1988, he delved deep into the art of acting, laying the foundation for his future roles on stage and screen.

Saurel's theatrical journey saw him sharing the stage with legends like Robert Hirsch and Darry Cowl in productions such as “Les dégoudis de la 11ème”. His dedication to the craft was evident as he continued to showcase his versatility, returning to the theater in 2016 for a captivating solo performance in “The Soliloquy of Grimm” by Bruno George, further solidifying his place in the world of theater.

Transitioning seamlessly into the world of cinema, Saurel made his mark in over 30 films, including notable works like “Give me wings” by Nicolas Vanier.
