Biography

Cédric Klapisch, the talented French film director, was born on September 4, 1961, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine. Coming from a Jewish background, Klapisch's family history was marked by tragedy as his maternal grandparents were deported to Auschwitz. Despite facing rejection from the prestigious French film school IDHEC, he pursued his passion for cinema by studying at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle and the University of Paris VIII. Seeking further knowledge and experience, Klapisch also attended the film school at New York University from 1983 to 1985.

In the 1980s, Klapisch embarked on his filmmaking journey by creating short films like "In transit" and "Ce qui me meut." His dedication and creativity soon led him to scriptwriting and directing feature films, showcasing his unique storytelling abilities. Not one to be deterred by challenges, Klapisch's resilience shone through when the production of his film "Ni pour, ni contre (bien au contraire)" faced a significant delay.
