Biography

Merrill Lee Connally, Sr. was an American film actor, county administrative judge, and rancher. He was the brother of Governor John B. Connally, Jr. Merrill Connally appeared in films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Rush (1991), and The Sugarland Express (1974). His contributions to both public service and the arts were significant in Texas.
