Angie Cepeda, born Angélica María Cepeda Jiménez on August 2, 1974, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, hails from a family with a legal background, her parents being lawyers Yadhira Jiménez and José Cepeda. Prior to making a name for herself in the entertainment industry, she resided in Barranquilla before eventually relocating to Bogota, where she kickstarted her career as a model.

In the 1990s, Angie Cepeda delved into the world of soap operas, showcasing her talent in productions such as "The Curse of Paradise", "Only a Woman", and "Candela". Her transition to the big screen occurred in 1996 with her debut in Sergio Cabrera's film, "Ilona Arrives with the Rain".
