Iko Uwais, born Iko Uwais Qorny on February 12, 1983, in Jakarta, is a multi-talented Indonesian actor, stuntman, fight choreographer, and martial artist. His journey into the world of martial arts began at the young age of 10 when he started training in pencak silat, a traditional Indonesian martial art, under the tutelage of his grandfather, H. Achmad Bunawar, a renowned silat master and the founder of a silat school.
His breakout role came in 2009 with the film "Merantau," where he showcased his exceptional martial arts skills, captivating audiences and critics alike. However, it was his role in the action-packed films "The Raid" (2011) and its sequel "The Raid 2" (2014) that truly solidified his status as a martial arts sensation.
