Sherman Alexander Hemsley, born on February 1, 1938, left an indelible mark on American television through his iconic roles in various sitcoms. While many recognize him as George Jefferson from "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons," his talent extended to portraying Deacon Ernest Frye on "Amen" and B.P. Richfield on "Dinosaurs."
