Tina Benko, a versatile and highly respected actress, has made a significant impact on both the New York theater scene and the world of film and television. Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Benko honed her craft at Carnegie Mellon University before making her screen debut in Stephen Gyllenhaal's "Waterland" in 1992. Throughout the 1990s, she took on various minor roles in both film and television while steadily building her reputation on the stage.

Despite starting with understudy roles on Broadway, such as in "The Real Thing" and "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg," Benko's talent and dedication soon led her to more substantial roles Off-Broadway and at prestigious venues like the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
