Reeson Wayne Shearsmith, born on August 27, 1969, in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, is a multifaceted British talent known for his work as an actor, comedian, writer, and even a magician. His journey into the world of entertainment began during his time at Andrew Marvell High School and later at Bretton Hall College of Education, where he crossed paths with future collaborators Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton, with whom he would go on to create remarkable projects.

Together with Gatiss, Shearsmith co-created, wrote, and starred in the critically acclaimed sitcom "Psychoville" and the darkly humorous anthology series "Inside No. 9." However, it was his involvement in the groundbreaking comedy troupe The League of Gentlemen, alongside Pemberton and Jeremy Dyson, that truly catapulted him into the spotlight.
