Madeleine West's journey to becoming a renowned actress is a tale of passion and dedication. Despite starting a university degree in Law, her love for acting proved to be insuppressible, leading her to defer her studies indefinitely. From a young age, Madeleine displayed a natural flair for the arts, captivating audiences of family and friends with her performances. This early talent blossomed when she gained entry into the NSW Talented Child Drama Ensemble in 1992, setting her on a path towards a successful acting career.

Determined to perfect her craft, Madeleine pursued formal training at esteemed institutions such as Swinburne University, Tamworth Conservatorium of Music, and Riverina Drama Ensemble. She further enriched her skills by undertaking courses at the prestigious NIDA, as well as engaging in workshops focused on voice, movement, drama, and musical theatre across Victoria and interstate. In recognition of her talent and dedication, Madeleine was honored with the 'Be Your Best' Performance Scholarship from the Australian Drug Foundation in 1999, a testament to her commitment to excellence in the performing arts.
