After graduating from USC with a degree in Business, he found himself working as a loan officer at a bank in Los Angeles. However, a fateful trip to L.A.'s renowned Groundling Theater changed the course of his life forever. Enrolling in the theater's Improv Program, he soon became a member of the troupe from 1992 to 1997.
