Avis-Marie Barnes, a talented actress and director, hails from the vibrant state of New Jersey. Her journey into the world of theater began unexpectedly during her high school years in Montclair. It was there that a classmate's invitation to participate in a one-act play sparked a passion within her that would shape her future. Following her newfound love for the stage, Avis-Marie pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University's esteemed Fine Arts Department.

Upon completing her education, Avis-Marie ventured into the bustling theater scene of New York City, where she honed her craft for an impressive 13 years. During this time, she also dipped her toes into the world of film, appearing as an extra, as well as gracing the sets of soap operas and commercials. In 1992, an exciting opportunity arose for Avis-Marie to attend a seminar in Orlando, Florida, where she had the chance to connect with influential casting directors and talent agencies.

Embracing the burgeoning entertainment industry in Florida, Avis-Marie made the bold decision to relocate and pursue new opportunities in the Sunshine State. Over time, her dedication and talent led to a flourishing career encompassing a diverse range of projects, including industrials, television, voiceover work, films, and theatrical productions. Not content with just being in front of the camera, Avis-Marie also delved into directing, showcasing her multifaceted skills and creative vision.

Despite making Florida her home, Avis-Marie's heart remains tied to her roots in New Jersey, where her journey first began.
