Franklin Edward Cover, born on November 20, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, was a talented American actor best known for his iconic role as Tom Willis in the groundbreaking sitcom, The Jeffersons. Cover's portrayal of Tom, half of one of the first interracial couples on prime-time television, left a lasting impact on audiences and the industry as a whole.
Cover's journey into the world of entertainment began on the stage, where he honed his craft by appearing in classic plays such as Henry IV, Part 1 and Hamlet. In 1965, Cover married Mary Bradford Stone, with whom he shared a fulfilling partnership.
