Chill Wills, born Chill Theodore Wills on July 18, 1902, was a versatile American film actor and a talented singer known for his deep, rough voice with a distinctive Western twang. From a young age, Wills showcased his performing skills, leading the Avalon Boys Quartet in the 1930s before embarking on a solo acting career.

One of his most iconic roles was providing the voice for Francis the Mule in a series of popular films, where his cynical and sardonic portrayal perfectly matched the character. Despite not receiving billing for his vocal work, Wills left a lasting impression on audiences with his memorable performances.

Wills demonstrated his acting range by taking on serious roles in films such as "City That Never Sleeps" (1953) and "Giant" (1956), where he shared the screen with legendary actors like Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor, and James Dean.
