Born on the day Richard Nixon was elected president, J.D. has a fascinating heritage that includes Irish, French, German, Cherokee, and Choctaw roots. Growing up as the oldest of seven siblings, he experienced a nomadic childhood, attending a remarkable 17 different schools while shuttling between his parents. His father, affectionately known as Puddin, is a multi-talented individual with skills ranging from welding to archaeology, while his mother, Sally, dabbled in various professions, including concert promotion and nightclub ownership.

Following a brief period in college and a stint in the Marine Corps, stationed in California, J.D. found his way to Los Angeles, where he embarked on an unexpected journey into the world of acting.
