Russell Hodgkinson, a versatile actor known for his captivating performances, was born on the Homestead Air Force Base and spent his formative years in St. Petersburg, Florida. His journey into the world of acting began in 7th grade when he took on the role of the Scarecrow in a production of The Wizard of Oz. This early experience ignited a passion for the craft that would shape his future.

Despite receiving a theatre arts scholarship, Russell made the bold decision to join the Army after becoming a father in his senior year of high school. His time in the military not only instilled discipline and dedication in him but also provided him with the opportunity to hone his acting skills at the prestigious Fort Bragg Playhouse. By the end of his service, he had earned his Actor's Equity card, marking the beginning of his professional acting career.

After a stint in New York City, Russell reenlisted in the Coast Guard in 1986 and found himself stationed in Hawaii aboard the USCG Cutter Sassafras. During his time there, he dedicated his off-duty hours to studying at the Honolulu Film Actor's Workshop, further sharpening his talents. It was in Long Beach, California, where he crossed paths with his future wife, the talented actress Shelley Poncy.

In 1992, Russell and Shelley relocated to Louisiana, where they quickly became integral members of the vibrant New Orleans theater scene. Their passion for the arts led them to Seattle in 2003, where Russell reignited his theater career and immersed himself in the thriving independent film community. His commitment to his craft and undeniable talent caught the attention of casting directors, leading to a significant breakthrough in 2014.
