Ester Dean, born and raised in Oklahoma, found solace in music from a young age as a way to cope with the challenges of her upbringing. Despite facing poverty and bullying, Dean discovered her passion for creative writing and songwriting as a form of self-therapy. Her ability to channel her emotions into music became her escape from the harsh realities of her small town.

At 15, Dean moved to Omaha, Nebraska with her sister, where she immersed herself in the local music scene, honing her skills by writing for rappers and producers. Determined to pursue a career in music, she took a leap of faith at 20 and ventured to Atlanta with only $500 in her pocket. It was there that she caught the attention of music producer Tricky Stewart, who recognized her talent during a Gap Band concert.

Signing a publishing deal with Stewart marked a turning point in Dean's career, providing her with the opportunity to collaborate with established writers and producers. Her move to Los Angeles further solidified her presence in the music industry, leading to a partnership with Polow da Don and Zone 4 Records/Interscope Records.

Dean's breakthrough came with the release of her single "Drop It Low" and her collaboration with Stargate on Rihanna's chart-topping hit "Rude Boy". She continued to pen hits for artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj, earning her the nickname 'The Song Machine' in the music industry.

Beyond her success in songwriting, Dean ventured into voice-over work, lending her talents to animated films like "Ice Age: Continental Drift" and "Rio". Her versatility as a performer caught the attention of filmmakers, leading to her role as Cynthia Rose in the popular movie "Pitch Perfect" and its sequel.
