Mary Treen, born Mary Louise Summers on March 27, 1907, was an American actress who left a lasting mark on the film and television industry. Despite being a minor actress, she carved out a unique niche for herself in Hollywood during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s with her distinctive charm and comedic timing.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Treen's upbringing was marked by early challenges, including her parents' divorce when she was just an infant. Raised in California by her mother and stepfather, she discovered her passion for acting at a young age, participating in school plays and honing her craft.

Throughout her career, Treen appeared in over 40 films, showcasing her versatility and talent on the big screen. One of her most memorable roles was as Tilly, the secretary of the Building and Loan, in the beloved classic "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946), where her comedic flair shone brightly.

However, Treen's most extended and beloved role was as Hilda, the maid and baby nurse, in the popular sitcom "The Joey Bishop Show" from 1962 to 1965. Her endearing portrayal of the character endeared her to audiences and solidified her status as a talented character actress.

In addition to her television work, Treen also made notable appearances in various TV shows, including the CBS sitcom "Willy," where she captivated viewers with her comedic timing and lovable persona.
