Skelly (2024) follows a young boy whose grandfather’s death forces a fractured household to reckon with loss. His father, numbed by grief, channels his pain into organizing the town’s annual haunted house and sends his son on a quiet journey to learn about death through family stories, rituals, and small duties. The haunted attraction becomes both a classroom and a canvas, where memories, myths, and the boy’s curiosity collide to reveal how communities hold on to the people they’ve lost.

Blending tender family drama with a gentle touch of spookiness, the film finds warmth in ordinary details—rusted props, late-night carpentry, whispered tales—and in the awkward, loving attempts at repair between father and son. Skelly treats mortality with compassion and curiosity rather than fear, using the haunted house as a poetic space for mourning, remembrance, and the slow rebuilding of connection.
