Muromachi Burai

Set in war‑torn 15th‑century Kyoto on the eve of the Onin War, Muromachi Burai (2025) follows Hyoe, a scoundrel whose lethal swordsmanship and magnetic, outlaw leadership spark a desperate uprising against a corrupt Shogunate. As cities smolder and samurai banners clash, Hyoe's ragged band becomes the spearhead of a rebellion that threatens to tear the old order apart, painting honor and law in shades of blood and smoke.

The stakes become painfully personal when Doken, a former friend turned archrival, leads the Shogunate’s forces against him, turning every skirmish into an intimate reckoning. Against a backdrop of ruined temples, narrow alleys, and sweeping battlefields, the film probes loyalty, betrayal, and the cost of resistance when the line between savior and outlaw blurs.
