In the Summers

Across a string of sun-soaked summers in Las Cruces, New Mexico, two sisters return each year to their father’s house and to the complicated love that holds them there. As they grow from children into young adults, the visits become a map of their changing selves—small rituals and fierce arguments, moments of tenderness and sharp volatility—capturing how family loyalty and longing can both sustain and strain. The father’s warmth is as real as his unpredictability, and the sisters learn to read the weather of his moods while learning who they want to be.

Told in intimate, lived-in scenes that track time through heat and memory, the film explores the messy, tender work of coming of age within a fractured but devoted household.
