Biography

Eric McCormack, a versatile Canadian-American actor, musician, writer, and producer, was born on April 18, 1963, in Toronto. His passion for acting ignited during his high school days at Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute High School, where he honed his craft by participating in various school plays. McCormack's dedication to the art led him to leave Ryerson University in 1985 to join the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he immersed himself in the world of theater for five years.

Transitioning to Los Angeles in the late 1990s, McCormack initially took on minor roles before making his mark in the entertainment industry. His talent shone through in diverse television series such as Top Cops, Street Justice, Lovesome Dove: The Series, Townies, and Ally McBeal. However, it was his iconic portrayal of Will Truman in the groundbreaking sitcom Will & Grace that catapulted him to global fame, earning him an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2001.
